We are the Church of England Parish Church for the
town of Yiewsley on
the western edge of London, just north of Heathrow Airport. We are a
community of Christians from all sorts of backgrounds and ages.
Together we are seeking to grow in our relationship with God, to serve
him in all that we do and to bring God’s blessing and
transformation to our community. These commitments are summed up in our
Mission Statement:
• Serving God • Supporting the
Community
2009 is a very significant year for us at St
Matthew’s,
because it’s 150 years since the first St Matthew’s
Church opened in 1859. We’re celebrating with an exciting and
varied programme of community events throughout the year. Click here to
see the programme. And we hope you like our 150th anniversary logo
above. It was designed by 9 year old Ashleigh Tomlin and was the
winning entry in a competition we ran with local schoolchildren to
produce our anniversary logo.
On this website you’ll find all sorts of
information about
what happens at St Matthew’s and our plans for the future. I
hope you’ll enjoy browsing. And of course, we’d be
delighted to welcome to you one of our services, details of which can
be found here.
