What's On
St Matthew's, Yiewsley
Summer 2003 |
| ||||||||
|
As some, at least, will have noticed, work on the Church roof has been underway over the summer, and by the time you read this it may even be finished.
School broke up on Friday 18th July and our scaffolding went up during the following week; actual roof work began during the week of 28th July and is being carried out by J.H. & R.R. Mundy Ltd of Feltham. |

How We’ve Paid
These works have been funded by £5000 from the Building Fund and £5000 from the General Fund. This means that the building fund is now nearly empty! Special thanks to all those who have contributed towards these costs.
What’s Next?
Update, Spring 2004 Electrical works have been completed and inspected and an Electrical Safety Certificate has been issued. Thanks as always to all concerned. |

| Work began by stripping off all the old and somewhat holey felt from the gutter. They then constructed a wooden framework which allows the circulation of air beneath the new lead lining for the gutter. The lead was hoisted up onto the roof by rope from the scaffold. | ||||
New lead about to go up |
It’s been hot work up there but the dry weather has allowed good progress to be made and at the time of writing (17th August) the work was nearly complete. |
